What We're Looking For

The Admissions Counselor in Undergraduate Admissions is responsible for managing a geographical territory and recruiting prospective students to Baylor, selecting applicants who are academically prepared to succeed and who are a good fit for the university, to enroll the desired quality and quantity of future Baylor graduates. This in-person position is based in Waco, Texas.

A bachelor's degree is required. One to two years of experience is preferred.

A valid Texas Driver License with a clear driving record of at least two years is required.

Must be able to travel outside of the state of Texas.

This position is temporary in nature.

Applicants must currently be authorized to work in the United States on a Full-Time basis.

What You Will Do
  • Manage a geographic territory and strategically work with prospective students within that territory from point of inquiry to final matriculation, using geo demographic research, historical data, funnel reports and current enrollment trends.
  • Manage daily correspondence, telephone follow-up, e-mails, and inquiries pertaining to prospective students. Implement targeted calling/e-mail/mail campaigns to shape enrollment goals. Meet with prospective students or groups in office visits.
  • Complete application files for review using advanced knowledge of Slate and banner.
  • Review complete files, make admission/rejection recommendations, prepare files for admissions committee review. Counsel students regarding final college decisions.
  • Strategize travel within territory to recruit a pool of prospective applicants. Plan and execute small group events & and large group events regarding admissions process & target prospective students in the territory.
  • Assist in creating & staffing outstanding on-campus events, offer admissions presentations, & meet with students/families after tours as needed.
  • Assist in executing the Enrollment plan by meeting territory goals and assist with Undergraduate Admissions office duties as needed.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned to support Baylor's mission.
