Description The Office of Admissions at the University of Tennessee at Martin is currently accepting applications for a Campus Visit Counselor. This position is especially focused on coordinating the campus visit program for prospective students and families.
Job Duties include:
Coordinate and schedule campus visits for prospective students, including school groups, individuals, families, and special interest groups;
Conduct admission group and individual presentations on the UTM undergraduate student application process and distinctive academic and programmatic features of the UTM campus to students, parents, and school counselors;
Visit with and give campus tours to prospective students, families, and groups;
Coordinate the student ambassador program and schedule ambassadors to aid in campus tours;
Develop and coordinate strategic recruitment initiatives for the campus visit program to attract a diverse group of new students to UT Martin;
Counsel a diverse set of prospective students and families about the admissions process;
Execute an outreach plan, including outbound calling, texting, emailing, and personal notes to students, families, and school administration;
Communicate with prospective students and their families by email, phone, social media, and direct mail concerning admissions, financial aid, housing, and academic programs;
Assist with Orientation, Preview Days & other special events;
Assist Support staff as needed;
Occasional overnight travel for recruitment;
Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree and two years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
Excellent computer skills, people skills and strong customer service skills
Willing to travel
Ability to lift and load boxes
Detail oriented
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Available to work some evenings & Saturdays
Preferred Qualification
Advanced degree preferred
Experience with Banner
